This artificial climbing wall and tower training is the first step in preparing staff to develop introductory technical skills. Instruction includes elements of client orientation, belay system choices, and wall equipment care.

PARTICIPANTS WILL:

• Be introduced to artificial climbing walls as an educational tool.

• Explore intentional learning outcomes and curriculum.

• Develop best practices related to artificial climbing wall environments.

• Develop a level of consistency and competency in the following areas:

• client orientation and instruction

• general climbing skills including movement

• options for attaching the climber

• belaying techniques and options (Primary, Australian, TEAM)

• equipment care and use

• structural inspection and care

• facilitator wall/tower access and off-hours public access prevention

• route setting considerations

• awareness of potential climber problems

WORKSHOP INFORMATION:

• $210 – Includes registration, workshop manuals and lunch during workshop.

• Workshop registration cancellation policies: Cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to a workshop start date will result in 50% refund of tuition cost. No shows without cancellation notice will forfeit all tuition cost paid.
