International Professional Affiliation Group (IPAG)
The International Professional Affiliation Group offers a community for AEE members who reside outside of North America.
In addition to serving as a networking forum, the group is committed to providing international members with a venue to share their perspectives and ideas with the primarily North American-centric association, and also allows those in North America to better learn from and share with the international community.
The underlying purpose of the group is to appreciate the global nature of experiential education and deliver upon the value of encompassing diverse perspectives by enriching opportunities for AEE members across the globe.
The international affiliation group strives to:
- Allow for a stronger voice for international AEE members;
- Provide better international EE perspective to the association;
- Enrich AEE by connecting with other international EE-related organizations;
- Contribute to greater networking opportunities that efficiently and effectively connect AEE members with one another (across the globe, but also across an international region such as SE Asia)
Sign Up for the International Listserv
The active international listserv (created after the St. Paul conference) disseminates news to potential members and connects members throughout the world. We would hope to continue this listerv, and enlarge its scope and function as membership grows. If you'd like to join the email list for this group, please send an email to jimrogers111@gmail.com. Additionally, we would hope to start a membership database and create a quarterly newsletter (as a PDF sent electronically). It is our goal to feed into AEE publications such as Horizon, and network to create research projects that may then feed articles in to the Journal of Experiential Education.
Please contribute to our International Community!
The AEE international affiliation group would like to formally acknowledge the addition of the first Executive Committee (EC) within the international affiliation. The Executive Committee will work together to help support the larger International group community members and hopes to support the growth of the international affiliation group.
At the AEE conference in Little Rock, AR, USA in November 2007 the following parties were elected to serve in these roles: Martin Voon, Shanghai, China, Patrick Maher, British Columbia, Canada, Anthony Ocampo, Philippines, and Stephanie Willis, Chicago, IL, USA. The AEE Membership Manager is Kirsten Kindt of Colorado and she can be contacted at membership@aee.org . The EC has been working to pursue ways to further the development, growth and success of the international affiliation group.
At this time the EC will be a contact for international members who want to access further networking and connections with other members within the affiliation group. All Executive Committee members can be contacted by international@aee.org.
The EC is invested in reaching the needs of the international affiliation group members. For this reason members' feedback is strongly recommended as the EC is assessing ongoing ways to provide information and support to its' members. Any feedback and suggestions related to needs that you have please forward them to the EC as we welcome ideas and needs.
Thank you for your involvement in the international affiliation group. Please await future ongoing posts and announcements from the EC.
Best Regards,
